Hi, I’m Justyna Karamuz
I am a designer, ceramic artist and painter based in Valencia, Spain.
My work moves between functional porcelain, abstract painting and mentoring creative entrepreneurs.
Although these practices may seem different, they all grow from the same curiosity: how thoughtful design can shape the way we experience everyday life.
Whether I’m making a porcelain cup, painting on paper or helping another creative build their business, I’m interested in the small details that change how people feel, think and interact with the world.
Design has always been my language
Long before I opened my ceramic studio, I spent over a decade designing digital products used by millions of people.
As an Interaction Designer, UX Design Lead and Product Manager, I worked on some of Poland’s best-known digital products, including Pracuj.pl, Gazeta.pl and one of the country’s earliest blogging platforms. My job was never just to make things beautiful—it was to make them clearer, more intuitive and genuinely useful.
Eventually I realised I wanted to create things people could hold in their hands.
So I left the corporate world and opened a ceramic studio.
Design, art and business are not separate worlds
One of my projects, Slowpresso, received the MUST HAVE award from the Łódź Design Festival. It began as my father’s idea and became a complete product that I led from concept and industrial design through manufacturing, branding and the sale of thousands of pieces.
That experience taught me something I now bring to every project: good ideas are only the beginning. They need clarity, consistency and thoughtful execution to become meaningful.
Helping other creatives
Today I also mentor artists, makers and creative entrepreneurs.
I know what it feels like to balance artistic ambition with the realities of running a business because I struggle with it myself every day.
Rather than offering formulas or quick wins, I help people simplify, find direction and build businesses that feel authentic to the work they want to make.
What connects everything I do
Whether I’m shaping porcelain, painting, designing a product or mentoring another creative, I’m always asking the same questions:
Can this be simpler?
Can it be more meaningful?
Can it bring more beauty into everyday life?
Because I believe good design isn’t only about how something looks.
It’s about how it makes people feel.
